Time Travelers- Attempted Speed Run in the Grand

Speed run attempt down the Grand Canyon. A Choco Sandals production. They would have beat the record except the frame broke in Lava, and they punched a hole in one of the tubes, and it was raining. Rescue culebra with one paddler in the Royal George

Crear Creek rafting takes a Rescue Culebra down The Royal George on the Arkansas River in Colorado. They did it with one person and a canoe paddle. Ok that is impressive by itself, but If you want to Scout the river the easy way, here is a birds eye view of each rapid and they are named. This was a great video, and I just happened to find it.

Jeff puts together a great video of some of the images and stories of the near disaster at Glen Canyon Dam. This is a great companion to the book “The Emerald Mile”. It is fun to watch. Run the Wild River with Jack Curry 1964

A little bit of river history. Western Rivers Expeditions went down to Mexico and boated the Sumidero Canyon in 1964 before there were dams on it. Of course, they did it with 1964 state of the art equipment, that was big heavy and durable. The rapids are brutal, the boaters got beat up. There is footage of Mayan ruins at Bonampok in Chiapas, the Usamacinta River Puerto Vallarta in 1964 before the airport or good roads, and a couple of plane crashes. All with the “American Sportsman” video twist. You will really enjoy it. Western Rivers is a great customer of ours, and we are very happy that they posted this on You tube.

Homemade Russian craft makes it through an incredibly difficult stretch

If you are considering an extreme whitewater adventure, watch this. It is a video of an extreme run down a very steep river with huge rocks and very steep drops. The main craft consists of two oversized doughnuts that are tied together with a log frame. In one place it looks like they are going to be stuck forever, but somehow, they got out. Absolutely amazing. Think about the people taking the video. There was some great footage here.
