CATARAFT FRAMES

Delux Down River Fly Fishing Frame on a Daddy Cat

This frame features all aluminum construction. Speed rail fittings, and is UPSable. Note the diamond plate floors. A couple of very nice features on this frame include: Totally adjustable oarlocks, for & aft, Tilt, up and down. Oar Geometry is a breeze. There is a tilt seat that can sit over a cooler, or over a drop bag. These frames work best on JPW Daddy Cats or larger. That is because the straight waterline does not allow the boat to rock, and gives more flotation in shallow water, and that is when the fishing is good. Down River 4 Bay Frame for 14 ft Cat

This is another Down River Frame that would fit on a set of Big Brother tubes. It has 4 bays. It is a whitewater frame and for that reason is simpler, and less money. Note the cooler inside of the drop bag under the fold up seat. For more information visitwww.downriverequip.com .

cataraft frame row module from river sports

This frame is a simple Riversports Cargo Module that has been dolled up with a perforated metal floor, adjustable seat, and a Recretec Aluminum dry box. We own a number of row modules without the Perforated floors. I would rather have scout bars and a foot Bar than the perforated metal. If you need a floor you can always tie a plywood deck on the bottom. If the floor is welded in, then you never have the option to drop down between the tubes. Often this is a very handy thing to be able to do. For More information visit www.riversports.com.They have an extensive web site on different frame options. It is very much worth investigating.

Riversports 3 Modules Together

This would be an ideal setup for a multi day trip. There is lots of room for cargo, and for people. For More information visit www.riversports.com.

Riversports Fishing Cat With two Standup Platforms

One of the nice features about this system is the modular concept. Even the modules are modular, in that the stand up bars are removable, and so is the diamond plate. In this way, you can have a whitewater boat, a fishing boat, of just go day tripping with your row module, and it all fits on a Daddy Cat. For More information visit www.riversports.com.

Northwest River Supplies Typical Large Frame

This is a typical NRS Large Cataraft Frame. With This frame the tubes are spaced aproximately 40 inches apart. This seems to be the wide industry standard. NRS frames are UPSable, The fittings and the aluminum tubing is marine grade. They are a very cost effective frame. There are standard fishing modifications, standard short modifications, and standard narrow modifications. For More information Visit www.nrsweb.com.

Flyer Cat Frame Built From a Kit

This frame was desinged for a flyercat. To make it fit on a Bigger cat, It needs only to be stretched longer and wider. This is an example of the use of premanufactured fittings from Sids Sports. The black and blue pieces are the premanufactured fittings. The Straight pieces are what the customer cuts from Top Fence Rail tubing with a hack saw. A really cool idea would be to purchase a number of fittings, and fly with them to Alaska, and then assemble the frame up there. For More information See www.jpwinc.com/framekits.html. There are a variety of ideas for using the Fittings and top fence rail tubing.

TMS Flyercat Frame

Tim Smith has been building raft frames for 20 years. Ever since I can remember, Tim has been at the River Guides shows. He makes Dynamite Tables too. Tms Frames are well built, and cost effective. Tim builds our Cutthroat frame components. This frame has Plywood Decking, and a Foot rest where the passengers can rest their feet. This flyercat setup will take up to 3 passengers for a total load of 4 people. There is room for a cooler in the back of the row module. If interested in this frame, Contact Tim at 1800 500 6575. Blackfoot Manufacturing Breakdown Frames

Blackfoot Manufacturing produces frames with a new concept in frame design. Consider this design if light weight, breakdown, and fly in capability is desirable. They use their own fitting design that slides over the end of pre bent square aluminum tubing. This fitting then clamps to round aluminum tubing that lies along the length of the inflatable. This system makes a very slick and easy breakdown system that works very well. Their new cataraft frames for fly fishing will have removable mesh floor sections, and we hope to have a picture of that soon. Visit their web site to see other great inventions like their pigy back raft carrier for a pickup truck called a Raft Rack. Email them at sales@blackfootmfg.com or call them at 1866 910 1100.

NRS CAT FRAME RIGGED FOR PADDLE SETUP

The river guides at Canyon Catarafts in Riggins Idaho came up with a great innovation for surfing catarafts. There is a mesh floor laced into a NRS cataraft frame. Please note that THESE ARE THE OLD STYLE NRS FITTINGS. The new style plugs into the end of the cross member, so getting the new frame to work in this same way is a problem. With this frame there is one oarsman, and 6 paddlers. The floor is up high enough to allow the water to run underneath the floor. This makes the boat a real surfing machine. Also note that there are longitudinal members that are bolted on top of the cross members. This raises the longitudinal member 2 inches or so off of the side of the tube. When this longitudinal member is padded, it makes a great support keeping the paddlers from slipping off of the top of the tube.

BIG EDDY RAFT FRAMES

EP&F "MAJOR" frames are commercial duty raft frames that offer a number of features not seen anywhere else.

Materials: The main frame is built from welded 6061-T6 aluminum. The rails are 1.9 inches in diameter, and have a wall thickness of .145 in. Outside corners are mandrel bent to a smooth radius, and coupled with internal sleeves before welding. Other rail intersections are carefully fishmouthed for a tight fit and high strength assembly. Decks of aluminum tread plate are either welded to rails or joined by stainless steel hinges.

RIVERBOAT WORKS RESCUE CULEBRA FRAME

The Culebra concept is a cataraft that does not need a frame. We introduced this system as an aid to river rescue operations. The frame enables either a simple rowing platform, or a rowing and motor platform. The frame is sturdy enough to allow a 25 hp motor to be connected to this small boat. We have used 25 hp motors on similar sized boats and up run the Colorado at 20,000 cfs through serious rapids We have used 25 hp motors on similar sized boats and up run the Colorado at 20,000 cfs through serious rapids
. Therefore we are reasonably confident in this design. The rescue frame concept will be tested through out 2007 at various locations in the USA. The rescue culebra with rowing frame and with out a rowing frame has been tested in 2004 through 2006. Please email me if you would like more information about the rescue culebra. My email address is on the bottom of each page in this web site. Consider contacting Ron Ferris at River Boat Works
if you are interested in the frame or the transome concept depicted here.

RIVERBOAT WORKS ELTIGRE STANDARD FRAME

This is a break down, shippable 5 bay cataraft frame. It is made of speed rail type of fittings for easy break down. The rainbow oar locks are adjustable fore and aft, and can be rotated outward. They are not as adjustable as the oar towers that are seen in the Delux Fishing Cataraft Frame. They are slightly stronger. The frame cross members are adjustable to fit different size coolers, drop bags or boxes. Contact Ron Ferris at River Boat Works for more information about this type of frame, and for more information about accessories and price. This frame is mounted on an El Tigre cataraft set of tubes. They are 28 inches in diameter, and the tubes have a 12.5 ft waterline.

RIVERBOAT WORKS ELTIGRE DIAMOND PLATE FRAME WITH DROP BAGS

This is not a break down, shippable 5 bay cataraft frame, because of the diamond plate construction. The diamond plate makes it easier to walk across the deck and get around on the boat. Diamond plate floors on the frame are also available. These diamond plate structures make the boat more user friendly, but the frames are not upsable. The rainbow oar locks are adjustable fore and aft, and can be rotated outward. They are not as adjustable as the oar towers that are seen in the Delux Fishing Cataraft Frame. They are slightly stronger, however I have never seen an oar tower break. This picture shows a drop bag in one of the bays. Because the diamond plate restricts the movement of the cross tubes, customers should be certain of how they want their bays arranged for cargo and other functions. Contact Ron Ferris at River Boat Works for more information about this type of frame, and for more information about accessories and price. This frame is mounted on an El Tigre cataraft set of tubes. They are 28 inches in diameter, and the tubes have a 12.5 ft waterline.

RIVERBOAT WORKS DELUX FISHING CATARAFT FRAME

This frame is built with lean towers and fishing seats for one guide and two fishermen. It also has a unique anchor pulley system, and diamond plate floors in the casting areas. The oar towers are more adjustable for oar geometry because they can be raised or dropped into the fittings as well as slid fore and aft, and rotated outward. The lean towers and seats can be removed if necessary so that the craft can be used as a cargo cataraft on multi day trips. Contact Ron Ferris at River Boat Works for more information about this type of frame, and for more information about accessories and price. The tubes are mounted on a set of 25 inch diameter Daddy Cat set of tubes with an El tigre or Blunt nose.

Down River Equipment Super Eltigre frame

This is a Super Eltigre 30 Cataraft with a Down River Equipment Frame on it. This frame has been decked with diamond plate all across the floor, and as a walkway on top of the tubes.
